The lady in green (esp. La dama de verde) is a one-act solo dance performance by Djahel Vinaver and Joaquín López “Chas”. Djahel, as a dancer and actress, impersonates The lady in green, a complex mixture of contradictory female features such as a frustrated spinster, a bag lady, a sophisticated intellectual, a wishful bride and a dreamy playful child, presented in a rich combination of colors, gestures, sounds, words and objects. The sound and music composed especially for the piece is presented live on stage by Joaquín López “Chas”. Since 2012, this Mexican production has toured in Costa Rica, Argentina and several cities in Mexico.
ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM
Djahel Vinaver is a Mexican dancer and choreographer whose training is in contemporary and Indian Classical dance. She has performed Butoh dance with Natsu Nakajima and has received choreographic awards and recognitions in Mexico.
Joaquín López “Chas” has created musical compositions and sound design for the stage since 1970. He has toured in Mexico and other countries with several theater and dance troupes. At present he has a grant from the National System for Art Creators in Mexico.
Xóchitl González Quintanilla is a renowned Mexican light and stage designer. She has received the Lighting Award in the World Stage Design 2013, Cardiff (UK).
