BUTŌ X (or ten years with Butoh) – video dance about an artistic way of pain, love and pleasure what is deeply bodily experienced and existential state of mind.

Emotional and sensational framework of this movie is the archetype of the spectrum of gender relationship. It is shaped by creative attunement and contradistinction of different images and atmospheres coming from performances. The Universal archetype as the sign of spiral movement means metamorphosis of human developmental cycle: birth, life and death.

The structure of the film is based neither on irrational or rational logic since, in butoh aesthetics, there is no need to expect a story, which will shape and explain the plot. Only immersing ourselves in the river, we can sense the warmth or coolness of the water, sensations of seaweed touching our body, experience emotions like surprise, pleasure, frustration or anxiety. The message of this movie will lead you if you allow yourself to experience feelings and sensations beyond the boundaries of words.
