Vaclovas Augustinas: „What is Homeland for me? When I think about it, these lines from a psalm, carved in my memory, come to mind:
May there be peace in your towers
May your palaces flourish
May you have prosperity.
I very much hope that my composition will bring the audience together not only for an aesthetic experience but as well for a sincere prayer for our Homeland.
„Missa pro centesimo anno restitutionis Lituaniae“ – is a large format, seven-part vocal-instrumental composition with traditional texts from mass for mixed choir, string orchestra, two soloists, a reader, a phonogram and movement. The two striking poles of composition are those of classical mass and their multiplannar fullfilment, like an allusion of our spiritual state surrounded by reflections of the modern world.
This is the composer‘s first step into interdisciplinarity, that will be created by several media during the performance.
