To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the “Théâtre du Corps”, the 2 choreographers Marie-Claude Pietragalla and Julien Derouault combined the greatest hits of their repertory with a new work : ‘Métamorphoses’. In the space of 2 decades, these 2 masters of dance have imagined a unique repertory in which bodies turn into silent narrators. All these choreographies reflect a relentless quest for inner truth, exploring the deepest and most complex human emotions. This show is a vibrant testimony to the company’s history, 20 years of work, research, innovation and intense artistic and human encounters.
The “Théâtre du Corps” is now a label, a benchmark where its performers, dancer/actors, push back the boundaries of traditional dance, creating a new and unprecedented body language. The new generation of theatre of the body artists are masterfully taking on the great universal themes of love, passion, solitude, cruelty and the inexorability of the passing of time. ‘Métamorphoses’ invites the audience to immerse themselves in an emotional and artistic journey, through which Marie-Claude Pietragalla and Julien Derouault express a vision of dance where movement transcends words, giving rise to a visceral theatrical experience that has been resonating deeply for the last 20 years.
