Real or artificial...
The person of the present and the future, and their pursuit of authenticity, truth, pure emotions...
that no one remembers anymore...
Extinct or not yet awakened HOMO DEUS.
Short film
Director: Wim Wenders | Japan
2023 / 8 mins
In the short film Somebody Comes into the Light, the talents of Japanese dancer and choreographer Tanaka Min meet with those of German director Wim Wenders. This stunning dance performance is a dialogue between two creators, painting the mature body with light and shadows, akin to the trunk of a centuries-old tree proudly bearing the imprints of time. Tanaka Min, who studied classical ballet and modern dance, became famous for his experimental solo performances, often using the nude body as a stage costume. Tanaka Min had a small role in Wim Wenders' Oscar-nominated film Perfect Days, in which we also catch a few seconds of this dreamlike dance performance.
